Qal'at al-Bahrain Fort & Manama Tour

Learn about Bahrain's history and visit the Qal'at al-Bahrain Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Built in 1522 by the Portuguese, the stronghold still plays a strategic role in the region and is also one of the most important monuments of Bahrain's culture.

The excavations, which persist around the Fort promise still further hints on life 2000-3000 years ago. Discover a traditional souk with its small shops selling spices, perfumes, fabrics and jewellery and find out more about the traditions of Arab families. We continue our journey passing by the skyline of Manama with its futuristic skyscrapers and make a leap into the age of Dilmun. In the Capital Mall we watch basket weavers working. Another highlight is a visit to the burial mounds. More than 85.000 burial mounds, up to 5,000 years old, existed once in Bahrain. Our tour ends with a visit to a camel farm.
